Colby Covington's mouth has gotten him banned from Sirius XM Show Colby was recently a guest on Miesha Tate’s Sirius XM radio show, “MMA Tonight." The purpose of the appearance was to discuss the big win over Robbie Lawler at UFC Newark. As the interview progressed, things got heated between Colby and Tate when she asked why Covington decided to call Lawler a legend. He usually undertakes his other opponents verbally on the mic, so Tate wondered why the approach changed. The statement didn't sit well with Covington. It led to him bringing up rumors of Miesha talking behind his back and that he has heard about them. “It gets back to me,” Covington said. “All the people say how (you say) negative thoughts about me, and how I’m this and that. I just think it’s very hypocritical because I don’t think you’re a perfect person. You might have some skeletons in your closet, as well.” Miesha claimed that her remarks were not to be taken personally. However, the vice President of ONE Championship claimed that many of the remarks made about Colby's flagrant approach to MMA were made by her boss, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong. Tate then said: "I don’t even know what to say right now,” Tate said. “It’s kind of crazy that you would go on that level just because I have an opinion, that you as an American should have respect for the fact that at least I have the balls to say it to your face, and that’s my opinion, and I’m entitled to it. I did not put you down as a person. You put me down as a person.” Being an analyst of the sport should give Tate the right to break down what she sees in a way that doesn't attack an athlete personally. If fact, the show's co-host Ryan McKinnell confronted Colby as well for his remarks. McKinnell stated, "You realize that that’s part of her job description right? She’s transitioned to being an analyst to give her thoughts on the sport,” McKinnell said. “You are a part of the sport. You make headlines for controversy, and you also made headlines for the exciting fights you put on like you did Saturday. It’s not a personal vendetta against Colby Covington.” The back and forth ultimately led to Colby personally attacking Miesha and bringing up a past situation in which personal nude photos of the fighter leaked on the internet. “I came on the show to give you the best ratings you’re ever going to get,” Covington said. Both Miesha and McKinnell decided that Colby was banned from their show never to appear again. Do you think the ban was rightful? Did Colby take it too far? Let us know.
