CM Punk has started competing in the UFC in late 2014, and he is closing to the year four of his UFC activity. However, CM Punk has competed only once in 2016, when Mickey Gall submitted him in the fight which lasted less than 3 minutes. Despite he is 39 years old, Punk doesn't even think of backing down from the challenge. The former WWE-champion should return to Octagon on June 9, in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, and fight in the UFC 225 event. There are rumors that his opponent will be Mike Jackson, who also has a record of 0-1, with one loss to Mickey Gall. Punk's teammate at Roufusport, former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony "Showtime" Pettis, believes that CM Punk has improved his abilities a lot since his UFC debut. (via MMAFighting.com) “I see him every day, man. That guy’s in the gym every day,” Pettis said Monday on The MMA Hour. “He’s probably one of the hardest workers in the gym. He’s always there, always improving, and yeah, he’s definitely gotten better. You put that much time into , you’re going to get better. He’s working the gi, he’s working no-gi. He’s training with top-level UFC guys inside his weight class, so I think we should see a better performance.” Anthony Pettis says CM Punk is present on a regular basis in the gym in Milwaukee. Even right after he was defeated from Mickey Gall, he hasn't lost his faith. Pettis claims that Punk is determined to improve. His 40th birthday comes soon and he hasn't fought since UFC 203 but, according to Anthony Pettis, this will not stop him. “He never stopped. Like, he didn’t take a break,” Pettis said. “He was right back at it. I think he had a couple injuries, but he was right back at it. “It doesn’t surprise me. He’s a competitor, man. And he loves the grind. I don’t know what else he’d be doing if he wasn’t doing this. He’s just, he’s always in the gym. So in the short time I’ve known him for his first fight to this fight, it’s the same, the dude is just pushing hard, man. He’s grinding, he’s getting better, he’s putting the mat time in, and there’s no way around getting better besides putting the mat time in.” What do you think, will CM Punk finally earn his first UFC victory in his hometown?
