Paige VanZant secured a spectacular win at Power Slap 12 and now wants to fight for the title.

VanZant bounced back

Things did not go as VanZant planned early in the match as her opponent Mikael Michelle Brown clearly threw a better slap. However, “12 Gauge” managed to bounce back and hit Brown harder as the bout went on.

VanZant was able to inflict damage on Brown’s face, while she, on the other hand, was barely hurt. In the end, the judges gave the former UFC star the nod, earning a 30-27 score from all three of them.

Paige wants to be a Power Slap champ

Following her victory, VanZant took the opportunity to call for a bigger match. She urged Power Slap boss Dana White to do a title fight for the 125-pound division and make her the other half of the inaugural championship fight.

“Hey Dana, where’s that [125-pound] belt, baby? Put me on the next card. Let’s get some women’s belts. We’re here to stay. We’re here to knock bitches out and slap people all day,” VanZant said after her win.

As it stands, VanZant is now 2-0-1 in slap fighting.  Her win over Brown was a good way to redeem herself after her last slap fight ended in a disappointing draw due to clubbing.

From the look of it, “12 Gauge” appears to be determined to achieve the zenith of success in slap fighting. It remains to be seen if White is also on the same page, though.
