Watch the entire CNN special by Dr. Sanjay Gupta on marijuana that everyone is talking about

America is the only country in which cheese enclosed inside of an aerosol can is perfectly acceptable. Some third world countries don’t have water to hydrate their families and we have entire theme parks filled with the stuff. It’s easy to hate the US for being entirely too awesome, but when Captain America is defending the country, that hate is met with blockbuster movie earnings and an infinite amount of merchandise spin offs. Sure America has done a lot of twisted stuff to other countries in the past. However, when we give the world stuff like Xbox 360, Chael Sonnen, iPhones, American Apparel V-Neck shirts, and Maria Menounos — you kind of have to let some stuff slide. Sorry Japan for that whole Hiroshima thing. Iraq, my sincerest apology for confusing you guys with Afghanistan after September 11th. America still kicks ass, even though the entire country has been demonizing marijuana — including CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

However, Gupta wants to apologize. He was wrong, and he even admitted it in a recent article on CNN.com.

Long before I began this project, I had steadily reviewed the scientific literature on medical marijuana from the United States and thought it was fairly unimpressive. Reading these papers five years ago, it was hard to make a case for medicinal marijuana. I even wrote about this in a TIME magazine article, back in 2009, titled “Why I would Vote No on Pot.”

Well, I am here to apologize.

I apologize because I didn’t look hard enough, until now. I didn’t look far enough. I didn’t review papers from smaller labs in other countries doing some remarkable research, and I was too dismissive of the loud chorus of legitimate patients whose symptoms improved on cannabis.

Apparently this wasn’t enough, so he decided to create an entire feature on CNN titled ‘Weed.’ Everyone has been talking about, and now here’s your chance to watch it in its entirety.
