Screw your 3D printing, 4D printing will be able to print space AND time!

3D television may have been some commercial fluke that was destined to fail, but if your cable provider offered 4th dimensional television, you would be able to see the progression of time illustrated in some weird elongated tube similar to that scene in Donnie Darko. So if you were watching Breaking Bad, you can visually see the path of destruction Jessie Pinkman has left this season. When television hits 5D, we will be able to see every possible outcome of each character. For example, we would see Walter White survive his lung cancer and die from it, simultaneously. In 6th dimensional television, if a character from Breaking Bad isn’t happy with the outcome of their actions, they will technically be able to fold the 5th dimension into the 6th and ‘go back in time’ to change his/her actions to yield a different result. Now mind-bending as that may be, imagine if we actually see the emergence of 6D printers.

Woah.

4D printing is enough for humanity, at least until we feel the need to print something that has the power of bending another dimension. Check out this Discovery News video of 4D printing technology, which will be able to print something that has the ability to print itself. Welcome to the simulacrum, folks.
