Thway Lin Htet defeated Xavier Gonzalez by split decision after three rounds of flyweight Muay Thai at ONE Friday Fights 170 on Friday in Bangkok. The narrow verdict came before Pompet PK Saenchai beat Yodlekpet Or Atchariya in the main event at Lumpinee Stadium.

The Myanmar striker snapped a three-fight losing streak by matching Gonzalez’s pressure with sharp counters, elbows and flying knees. Gonzalez continued marching forward through every round, leaving the judges to separate two different approaches after the final bell.

Thway Lin Htet’s Spinning Elbow Changed The Fight

Thway started quickly with punch-and-kick combinations, then gave ground as Gonzalez established his teep and straight punches. Gonzalez’s pressure forced Thway toward the perimeter, but late flying knees allowed the Myanmar fighter to finish the opening round with a dangerous response.

Gonzalez increased the force of his hooks in Round 2. Thway answered in the pocket with elbows and uppercuts, used push kicks to create space and opened a cut with a spinning elbow. That damage became the clearest single moment in a round where both men had sustained success.

The deciding round followed the same tactical split. Gonzalez attacked the body and kept stepping forward, while Thway waited for the rushes and landed counters after each blitz. The close scoring echoed another split verdict on the card, where Yonis Anane edged Ricardo Sanchez.

The Decision Ends A Three-Fight Slide

Thway improved his career record to 33-4 and collected his sixth victory under the ONE Championship banner. More importantly, the result stopped the first three-fight skid of his professional career and restored momentum against an opponent who never gave him a quiet exchange.

Gonzalez’s constant pressure made the co-main event competitive to the final bell, but Thway’s cleaner counters and second-round elbow damage earned enough support for the split decision.

The result completed a card that also featured Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri winning the inaugural ONE bantamweight Muay Thai championship. For Thway, the immediate reward was simpler: a hard-earned return to the win column at Lumpinee.
