After scoring a highlight-reel knockout in his Dirty Boxing debut, former UFC heavyweight standout Jairzinho Rozenstruik straps on the five-ounce gloves once again at DBX 3 in Miami.
Originally, ‘Bigi Boy’ was scheduled to square off with Robinson Perez in the evening’s main event. Perez ultimately bowed out of the bout, paving the way for Cleveland, a 42-fight veteran with experience competing in the PFL and Bellator, to step in and test his skills against the Surinamese sensation.
Round 1
After spending the first minute sizing up one another, Rozenstruik fires the first shot, throwing a straight right. Cleveland offers a counter, but neither punch connects clean. Cleveland moves in for another exchange and is immediately met with a counter left that sends him stumbling to the canvas. Rozenstruik follows up with a vicious right hand that puts Cleveland out like a light, bringing an immediate end to the bout in round one.
Official Result: Jairizinho Rozenstruik def. Rakim Cleveland via KO (counter left to right hook) at 1:54 of Round 1 to win the DBX heavyweight championship.
