UFC’s undisputed knockout king, Derrick Lewis, returned to the Octagon on Saturday night at UFC Nashville, stepping into the main event spotlight for a heavy-hitting showdown with unbeaten Brazilian bruiser Tallison Teixeira.
Making his 30th walk to the Octagon, ‘The Black Beast‘ seeks the 16th KO of his UFC career. But to get it, he’ll have to go through Teixeira, who boasts a perfect 8-0 record and a 100% finish rate in his mixed martial arts career.
Round 1
Lewis came out swinging early and ate a punch from Teixeira that grazed Lewis’ eye. With Lewis seemingly compromised, Teixeira moved in looking to capitalize. Lewis threw a massive left hook, connecting on Teixeira’s chin and knocking the Brazilian to the canvas. Lewis moves in, dropping bombs on the mat. Teixeira tries to fight his way back up, but the referee has seen enough and brings a stop to the bout less than a minute in.
