Adyam Devillafuerte recovered from an early knockdown and stopped Miguel Hinojosa at 1:54 of Round 1 during the BKFC 93 prelims on Friday, September 11. Their lightweight rematch opened the official broadcast from Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, before the BKFC 93 main card.

Hinojosa landed first and referee Christopher Young ruled Devillafuerte’s right hand touching the canvas as a knockdown. Devillafuerte answered immediately, put Hinojosa down three times in succession and ended the fight when Young completed the ten-count.

Devillafuerte Turned One Knockdown Into Three

Hinojosa’s right hand produced the first count, but Devillafuerte kept pressing instead of slowing the exchange. His body work and hooks forced Hinojosa backward before the final knockdown left the referee counting at the ropes.

Devillafuerte disputed how badly the opening sequence affected him, while accepting Young’s call and focusing on the response that followed.

“I thought it was more of a slip, but it’s all right. I get it, I take it. But if you want to give me a knockdown, or you counted it, I trust the referee. I came back and handled up.”

The result gave Devillafuerte his second BKFC victory and second knockout. The official event listing moved him to 2-0, while Hinojosa fell to 0-1 after their first professional bare-knuckle meeting.

Devillafuerte Wants Ranked Opposition

Devillafuerte did not name one opponent after the stoppage. He asked BKFC to move him toward its lightweight rankings following the four-knockdown round.

“Man, listen, you could give me top-ranked opponents. Give me ranked opponents. I don’t mind.”

The comeback joined Joe Lauzon’s five-knockdown BKFC return among recent bare-knuckle fights decided by repeated counts. It also came two weeks after Christine Ferea defended her flyweight title at BKFC 92, with Ferea watching from ringside in Hollywood.

Devillafuerte leaves BKFC 93 with a clean professional record and a verified first-round finish. His next booking will determine whether the promotion grants the ranked opponent he requested.
