And she has receipts. In case you didn’t know Sijara Eubanks once beat Mackenzie Dern in a jiu-jitsu match. Eubanks remembers and is now using that little nugget of info to try and score herself a fight with The Mackenzie Dern.
Yes, you read that correctly. Sijara Eubanks is starting a beef with someone not in her weight class yet. Who is also not ranked. And is technically a step down from a title fight she almost had at UFC 230.
Intentionally moving backwards down the UFC rankings is the most Sijara Eubanks thing of all-time. The only thing that could make this more Eubanks is if she missed weight the day before the fight and had to pull out.
As for Dern? The BJJ superstar turned MMA prospect has been MIA since she missed weight for her last fight. Dern has since changed camps and has been eerily quite about her next MMA move.
A Eubanks vs. Dern fight doesn’t really make sense on paper but it could be a delicious under card fight with some story behind it. This fight also works on a few levels in that it could build-up both Dern and Eubanks. For Eubanks she could continue to be the villain by killing off one of the UFC’s prospects. Or the UFC could light a fire under Dern by having her take out a fighter most MMA fans want to see beaten badly.
A win-win MMA beef at a weight TBD at a later date.
