Covington vs. Usman date, Fight Pass relaunch, & more in the Sunday Morning Rumor Mill

Covington Usman Fight Pas relaunch MMA rumors

Colby Covington doesn’t get “it” but this isn’t stopping him from advancing in the UFC. Like MMA rumors, Colby keeps climbing the ladder despite himself.

The MMA world now actively encourages cutting off your nose despite your face. Good times and now there is a pretty good chance Covington has the last laugh in all of this.

Great. Again.

As always these are rumors that have been talked about behind closed doors between MMA higher ups, so take them as MMA rumors.

Politics is sports and sports is politics, remember that as you bond with your Sunday Morning Rumor Mill.

  • All rumors point to Colby Covington versus Kamura Usman being booked at UFC 244 in the co-main event. Talks have also placed Colby versus Kamura as the main event of UFC 245 in Vegas.
  • No shame in anything but rumor is Robbie Lawler may be eyeing retirement. Nothing immediate, though looks like Lawler will fight out his current and then may lean towards retirement.
  • Word is Cris Cyborg’s options are now limited to Bellator and ONE Championship. Team Cyborg wanted an UFC offer but is now moving on.
  • Huge if true but UFC has already green lit a massive Fight Pass relaunch. A complete redesign and user interface will come in the late Fall. Behind the scenes UFC has been working to acquiring new live event properties.
  • It looks boxing, as well as Zuffa Boxing, will play a huge role on the new Fight Pass. No word about how ESPN, and ESPN+, feel about this move.
