You better believe Joe Warren is going for the Bellator bantamweight title

Joe Warren, yes! The Olympic level wrestler who is one of the few people that can claim to have been on the Frate Trane list since it’s inception. Now I know what you guys are thinking, there has been some questionable judging for a few of his wins, and I think I have an explanation: no one can ever question Joe Warren’s lion-like heart and mental determination. His will to win is so strong that he perpetually has a form of the ‘Mother in peril strength‘ that lets women lift cars off babies and it has mutated into a psychic ability. Joe Warren uses the feared by M-1 mental telepathy move to win. The judges can’t score against Joe and you can’t even stare into his eyes on the banner for over 5 seconds. Your head will explode.

Bellator Featherweight champ Warren gets to work soon, defending his belt in a rematch against Patricio Freire on July 23rd. Almost exactly 2 months later on September 24th, Joe is scheduled to enter the Bellator bantamweight tournament and has drawn Olympic freestyle wrestling bronze medalist Alexis Vila in the first round. No way that fight turns out like Monson/Cormier.

MMAWeekly caught up with Bellator head honcho Bjorn Rebney to talk about this Bellator bantamweight bossness:

To say our Season Five Bantamweight tournament is stacked is a gross understatement, Warren-Vila is going to be absolutely explosive for as long as it lasts, and the inclusion of Dantas, Nogueira, Chase, Soto, Ed and Luis makes every single fight in this tournament a pick’em adventure. This should be an unbelievable tournament for our fans watching live on MTV2.”

Yes, Joe Soto’s once feared career ending eye injury is okay and he is cutting the weight to be on the other side of the bracket in order to redeem this moment:

If I could have my way, that highlight and Manhoef/Cyborg would be required viewing weekly. And how are all these cars falling on children?
