No Fight Between Yoel Romero And Paulo Costa, Cuban Wants Anderson Silva!

Paulo Costa Won’t Fight Yoel Romero In January Due To An Injury, “Soldier Of God” Hopes For The Match Versus Anderson Silva Instead

Unfortunately, the match between Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa won’t happen for the second time! The fight was slated for UFC 230 on November 3, 2018, in the first place. But “Soldier Of God” broke an orbital bone in his last bloody war versus Robert Whittaker. He was later claimed medically unfit to face “Borrachinha”.

According to ESPN, the fight is canceled again because Paulo Costa suffered a minor injury. The spectacle was planned for January 19th, 2019, in Brooklyn, New York. But sources are saying there is no chance the Brazilian fighter would be eligible for the match before March.

It looks like Yoel Romero doesn’t want to wait that long. He targets the former UFC Middleweight titleholder Anderson Silva for a January spectacle. “The Spider” is still under suspension due to positive tests on methyltestosterone and hydrochlorothiazide. His penalty officially expires on November 10, 2018.

Yoel Romero (13-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) comes out with two losses in the last three fights. “Soldier Of God” was defeated by Robert Whittaker at UFC 213 on July 8, 2017, via unanimous decision. Then he rebounded back with a victory over Luke Rockhold at UFC 221 on February 11, 2018, via KO. But he was claimed ineligible for the championship since he missed the scale! In his last match, “The Reaper” defeated Cuban superstar again via controversial split decision at UFC 225 on June 9, 2018.

Paulo Costa (12-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) demolishes everybody in his way. He defeated Oluwale Bamgbose via TKO at UFC 212 on June 3, 2017, via TKO. Then he literally ran Johny Hendricks over at UFC 217 on November 4, 2017. In his last match, “Borrachinha” had no mercy towards Uriah Hall. The Brazilian fighter won the match via second-round TKO at UFC 226 on July 7, 2018.

Do you think Paulo Costa and Yoel Romero will fight soon? “Borrachinha” and “Soldier Of God” are probably two hardest hitters in UFC Middleweight division at the moment! Also, do you think Silva Vs Romero would be a great match to watch?
