Yoel Romero Fires Back At Daniel Cormier For Being Turned Down

Earlier this week, Yoel Romero’s manager Malki Kawa has confirmed that the ‘The Soldier of God’ will indeed move up to 205 pounds after failed to make the 185-pound weight limit at UFC 221 and UFC 225.

Kawa also revealed that Romero is interested in throwing down against Daniel Cormier for a title fight, who’s coming off a KO win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 last weekend to become the second UFC fighter to hold titles in two divisions simultaneously.

After Kawa’s comments, Romero quickly calls out Cormier for a title fight at upcoming UFC event in New York.

@dc_mma Congratulation to you for Saturday. I want to #seeyousoonboi give the people what they want to see Me and #iluhju 205 in New York

After caught wind of Romero’s call, Cormier revealed on last night’s “UFC Tonight,” that he wouldn’t fight against Yoel for no reason, even ‘Soldier Of God’ who would have washed him in straight wrestling.

That didn’t stop Romero from clapping it back at Cormier and sent a scathing tweet, ridiculed him for losing to Jon Jones at UFC 214.

The last time somebody “failed a grade and moved up a #class “ look like it work good @dc_mma #iseeyousoonboi #iluhju

Jon Jones who bested Cormier at UFC 214, but that win overturned to no contest after tested positive for steroids, and later Cormier was reinstated as the official 205 champion. Since then Jones removed from official UFc rankings and currently four-year suspension if found guilty by USADA.

Cormier wants two more fights before hanging his gloves for good, recently teased to defend a light heavyweight title against Shogun Rua before Brock Lesnar returns to Octagon.

Do you think Cormier should give Romero a chance for a title fight?
