Excited is not a word many people would use when asked how they feel about the prospect of facing a Green Beret sniper in a mixed martial arts bout. Trepidation is maybe a better word. Terrified? Whatever word you would choose, just be thankful this is a hypothetical situation. Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold on the other hand was asked that question by MMAWeekly and ‘excited’ is the exact word he chose. Personally, I would only say I was excited to face Tim Kennedy if it was across a dinner table and he had prepared this awesome looking Shephard’s Pie but maybe that’s just me.
It has been a long time coming but hopefully we will get to see Tim Kennedy challenge Luke Rockhold for his Strikeforce belt very soon. Maybe shortly after that Tim and I can sit down and compare recipes and create a “top ten minced steak recipes” article. While a date hasn’t been set by the promotion, Luke recently talked about why he is excited to face Tim Kennedy and what he thinks of Derek Brunson which you can check out for yourself in the video clip below.
