Woah, Alistair Overeem vs. Frank Mir is going down at UFC 167

Alright, so the past two bouts Overeem had in the UFC, logic dictates that he should have won each one in a very convincing manner. Now that the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Adam Hill broke the news that Alistair Overeem vs. Frank Mir is going down at UFC 167 at the MGM, logic dictates that Alistair Overeem defeats Frank Mir — right?

Let’s apply some basic MMA math to this one. Time to dust off the TI-83 calculator. Frank Mir caught Brock Lesnar in a slick submission, but then was later brutalized by Lesnar at UFC 100 in one of the most one-sided beatings the MMA world has ever seen. Alistair Overeem beat Brock Lesnar so bad that he retired. Hmph, alright — carry the one — damn, this calculator just keeps opening up Drug Wars and showing me the price of ecstasy.

If we apply the common demonstrator of Mirko Cro Cop to both fighters then maybe that will yield some results. At UFC 119, Frank Mir managed to defeat Cro Cop in the third round via a bizarre knee that immediately sent him to the ground. At Dream 6, Overeem kneed Cro Cop twice in the groin which turned into a no-contest. According to MMA math, that states the winner between Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem will be…me. Press row cage-side seating always wins in the end, folks.
