Werdum just beat down Mike Russow in front of his fellow Brazilians

Starting with Fedor’s retirement fight on Thursday, this weekend has been nothing but non-stop MMA action. My brain is mush right now. Only the Brazilian crowd at UFC 147 is keeping me going. And it’s a shame because I really wanted to break down the MMA Math on what it means for Mike Russow to last longer against Werdum than Fedor did, even though Russow knocked out Todd Duffee, who was destroyed by Ubereem, who had a very boring fight with Fabricio Werdum this time last year (the only clear thing to take from that is Werdum would probably defeat Todd Duffee in the second round.) The heavyweight division is so muddy beyond JDS and Reem it’s ridiculous, but here comes Vai Cavalo on the horizon.

Werdum has looked incredible since his return to the UFC…Like, TRT incredible. First he pulled a Three Stooges style move on Roy Nelson, then he soundly defeats Mike Russow in front of an adoring Brazilian crowd. Check out the uppercut that brought down the big Russow after a minute or so of Werdum having his way with him. Pure dominance which led to Werdum almost vaulting himself out of the octagon.
