I think we can all agree that everything there is to know about the scientific universe can be found on the Wu-Tang Forever double album. The rest of life is pretty much down hill from there. Chael Sonnen proved his allegiance to the Wu back in 2010 by inserting a teleportation reference in one of his many verbal daggers aimed at Anderson Silva prior to UFC 117. That’s the moment when we all realized the landscape of trash talk will never be the same. Sonnen did to verbal altercations what The Matrix did for action films over a decade ago.
We can’t expect all of our favorite fighters to manifest trash talk that is on par with the genius that is Chael Sonnen’s larynx. Sometimes we have to settle for two verb-wielding apprentices like Jon Jones and Rashad Evans to provide press conference antics. My primary critique is there’s absolutely no reference of the infamous ‘Jon Jones swagger jacking incident of 2011.’ It was like Jon Jones hired Anonymous to hack Rashad Evans’ wardrobe.
