We’re bummed that Cole Konrad has retired from MMA to become a financial trader

When you’re the undefeated heavyweight champion of Bellator, and you’ve defended your belt with less difficulty than most teenagers have with the opening levels of Angry Birds, the obvious next step is a career in finance. Today, decisions like this make sense. Not only will it be a higher paying job, but it’ll give you so much street-cred with your HR department that they’ll never dream of firing you. These, amongst other factors, probably went into Cole Konrad’s thought process to retire from MMA.

According to twincities.com, Konrad’s new duties will be trading milk products for a Minnesota-based firm that supplies ingredients used to feed farm animals, pets, as well as chemicals used for food processing. According to the job description, sounds like it’ll be a blast. I know from personal experience that there’s no duplicating the exhilaration of sitting in a cubicle for 12 to 16 hours per day. After all, in his last known MMA interview (with CagePotato.com), Konrad mentioned how much he respected Brock Lesnar for ‘knowing what he wanted and going after it.’ If Brock can find happiness in pro wrestling, we’re certain that this decision is a solid one. That being said, we congratulate Cole Konrad on his new career and salute him for inspiring youngsters to follow their corporate dreams. [Source]
