Yesterday when we were filming this feature of ONE FC’s Arnaud Lepont, I found myself telling my videographer how obnoxious some French-Canadians are and that if he ever visited Montreal, he would undoubtedly need to touch up on his French. Apparently French people from France aren’t offended by my disparaging of French-Canadians. There has to be a certain dynamic there — perhaps French people believe that French-Canadians aren’t as authentic as they are. I’m assuming there’s some nationalistic tension there — but my knowledge of France is limited to the three days I enrolled in French History back in the University of Arizona. Unfortunately I dropped the class because it coincided with Monday Night Football. At the time, it just had a greater meaning than learning about an entire country — and it still does.
The next time I run into ONE FC’s Arnaud Lepoint, I’ll be sure to ask what his opinion is towards French-Canadians — but in the meantime you guys should really check out this feature we shot with the French fighter as he roamed around Singapore this week.
