We finally have a date for the end of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament

This was going to be my lead-in item for tomorrow’s Sunday Morning Rumor Mill, but since Strikeforce just cut a promo tonight for the event , there’s no real reason for me to even create a Rumor Mill tomorrow. Whew, now I can sleep in knowing that the entire MMA world isn’t eagerly anticipating our weekly feature filled to the brim with bizarre (and mostly accurate rumors). I think I’ll celebrate by sitting cross-legged in a computer chair for an extended amount of time. That’s how we party on a Saturday night in Hollywood, CA.

It’s been over a year since we witnessed Fedor step into the cage against Bigfoot Silva to kick off the start of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament. Now that Strikeforce has finally nailed down May 19th 2012 for the end of the highly touted grand prix, we can only assume the winner will receive an instant contract to the UFC. At least, we can only hope.

Check out the newly sliced promo for the final of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament which will feature Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier in a death match. Just kidding about the death match part. It’s just one of those ordinary unified rules sanctioned bouts. [Source]
