On January 11th 2010, Kamipro released their February cover that featured Shina Aoki squatting over Hirota while giving him the middle finger and sticking his tongue out at exactly the same time. His now legendary antics even paved the way for an endless amount of romoshops, all of which you can find if you use that wonderful invention called ‘Google.’ Now over two years later, the organization that he was known for resides in the great MMA graveyard, below a tombstone next to Elite XC and Bodog Fights. Since the collapse of DREAM, Shinya Aoki has bounced around from Strikeforce and Bellator and tomorrow night/morning, he will make his debut in ONE FC at ONE FC: Rise of Kings against France’s Arnaud Lepont. Even though his record says he’s 9-1 with 8 submission wins, Lepoint will insist that he’s actually 10-1 with 9 submissions — and for some reason, Sherdog hates him. This week in Singapore, we followed Lepont around and he discussed what he has in store for Aoki in just a few hours.
