Watching Diego Nunes Starch Joachim Hansen is Depressing

We are under no delusion that Joachim “Hellboy” Hansen was ever the best fighter at Lightweight or Featherweight, but that still doesn’t mean that we don’t hold him in high regard. You see, Joachim Hansen is from a different time, when trading wins with Shinya Aoki and defeating JZ Cavalcante meant something.

A loss or two to Tatsuya Kawajiri wasn’t a big deal because it was Kawajiri and Joachim Hansen was still Hellboy. Japanese MMA at the time wasn’t about wins and losses, it was about how awesome and entertaining of a fighter a guy was. Championships were great, but pushing the pace and going for a dramatic KO or submission victory and failing in the process wasn’t a big deal, it was just proof that someone was a bad ass fighter.

Those days are kind of gone and there is no better way to illustrate that than to watch former UFC fighter Diego Nunes lay out Joachim Hansen in Sweden.
