Watch this video of a 9-year-old Edson Barboza practicing his wheel-kick

Barboza sounds like something you’d name a rabid animal capable of tearing through human flesh and leaving any survivor with a bad case of hepatitis. If I were to raise another dog, naming him Barboza and feeding him nothing but Hormel Chili would give him infinitely more street-cred, forcing him into a separate play area of the dog park.

Aside from having the most hardcore name in MMA, Edson Barboza has a muay thai skill-set that makes students of the sport giddy when watching his leg-kicks connect at the tail-end of a combo. For those of you who have never been to a live muay thai event, the phrase “…AND A KICK” is something you hear from every corner-man in the history of kickboxing. Long before UFC 142 in Rio, Edson Barboza was practicing the wheel kick that would earn him his KO of the night bonus. In fact, we have uncovered evidence that he was already fully capable of decapitating an opponent at the tender age of nine. Props to Marcelo Alonso for the find.
