This is it: The final moment before the accumulated combatants of UFC 158 are locked inside the Octagon and told to fight. This is the moment where the battle is done on the scale, and in their underwear, like a cut scene from the hit HBO dramedy Girls. That will be the only moment close to something written by Lena Dunham in MMA history, outside of when the men place their cold feet upon the the scale that will read their fate, then afterwards they can sip on some juice and then get in their opponent’s face in an effort to intimidate one another, then explain that they are grumpy due to low blood sugar.
Weigh-ins are glorious times, and don’t think the obvious GSP/Diaz face off will be the only thing worth seeing. Freakshow Fletcher and Mike Ricci is fascinating to me for some reason, and it will be cool to see Jordan Mein in the UFC and Nate Marquardt making his return.
