Rumor has it as a youngster growing up in England Michael Bisping once lost a game of Trouble, the pop-o-matic bubble, to a friend. Bisping never forgot that loss and proceeded to dominate said neighborhood chum in every possible Milton Bradley board game for the remainder of their friendship. No one knows what happened to that kid after piling up an ungodly amount of losses in a variety of board games.
Spoiler alert Bisping’s childhood friend was not named Luke Rockhold, but that would be an amazing set of circumstances if it was heading into UFC Fight Night 55 in Sydney, Australia. Bisping never forgets a slight. To this day Bisping uses Tito Ortiz picking Matt Hamill on The Ultimate Fighter 3 as personal motivation. Ortiz went so far as to call Bisping a nice sparring partner for his number one overall pick. Oops.
Two months removed from a violent TKO win over Cung Le, Bisping doesn’t need much motivation for his middleweight contender bout with Rockhold. Sometime during his 30 years on Earth Rockhold somehow snubbed Bisping, his country, his favorite zoo animal, or his favorite brand of soda and the TUF 3 winner will not forget. A Bisping never forgets.
