Watch out featherweights, Clay Guida is dropping to 145

Hopefully Clay Guida doesn’t trim an inch off his mane in order to make 145, that would be going too far. Remember when THQ offered Clay cash to cut his brown locks so he could be in UFC Undisputed 2009 and he turned them down flat? To cut your hair now, Clay, would be a slap in the face to your follicles and the development team who wanted you so badly to be in their game. But you do what you have to do, my Illinois bro.

Clay Guida released a statement through VFD Sports announcing his intent on a starting anew in the featherweight division next year. This is what he said in the statement in a weird, analogous way:

“The Carpenter is going to explore a new job site at the 145 pound division in the new year,”

“I plan on making a run at the foreman or superintendent position right out of the gates.  I hope you guys packed a lunch.”

“It will be nice to finally be one of the bigger guys in the cage.  I don’t cut weight at 155, and making 145 will be no problem for me.  My fans will get to see The Dude put some royal beatings on everyone in the division.  I will not be satisfied until the Featherweight belt is mine”

Let’s see here… There’s a bunch of good fights at 145 for Clay: The Korean Zombie, Poirier, Cub Swanson, Siver, Mendes, Ricardo Lamas. I’m down, I’m damn down to see Clay Guida in the 145 division. For some reason I think the first fight he should have is against Leonard Garcia though. I can’t put my finger on why, but I think it needs to happen.
