This is the end, my only friend, the end. The end of a trilogy. The end of two gargantuan individuals stepping in a cage to fight each other with their equally massive lunch box fists. Granted, this could technically end in a draw, which would make this rubber match futile and warrant a fourth match to decide who truly is the baddest man on the planet.
Here’s my brief prediction for tonight’s UFC 166 main event. In their first fight the pressure got to Cain Velasquez. He was headlining UFC’s first ever venture into FOX. The UFC also placed the entire Mexican-American culture on his back, something that was highly unfair in retrospect. Cain was nervous, JDS caught him with a hook slightly to the back of the head that rocked him and dos Santos finished the job on the ground. In the second match-up, a much more focused Cain virtually dissected dos Santos’ fight game with an array of takedowns and strikes that had JDS’ face looking like he had years of really bad plastic surgery.
This fight will be the same.
Now check out one last interview from both combatants, this time from AXS TV.
