Watch Ben Henderson compete in the Arizona Open JiuJitsu tournament with his powerful BenJitsu

There aren’t many people in this world badass enough to have an entire fight style named after them. Lots of fighters have particular strikes or moves named after them, such as Anthony Pettis has cage walking kicks named after him (The Showtime Kick) , Dan Henderson has a face smashing over hand right called the H-Bomb and virtually any spinning back-fist or kick thrown should forever be referred to as a Shlemenko if you ask anyone on the MiddleEasy staff. But, when it comes to an entire fight style-there just aren’t many dudes on this planet badass enough to have one named after them.

Yves Edwards is one of the few-he’s the ultimate master of the fine art of Thug Jitsu, but other than him and the Gracie’s- who transformed jiujitsu into the fight style it is today-there’s not really anyone else out there claiming to own their own fight style. Granted, Ben Henderson doesn’t claim to be a fight style creator but we think he should after watching him compete in the Arizona Open Jiu Jitsu tournament over the weekend. Really we just enjoy giving fighters and fight styles and special moves our own nicknames. It’s our thing. If you ever hang out with us, we’re kind of like Rob Schneider the SNL copy machine guy when it comes to nicknaming people and stuff in general.

Bendo used his own version of jiujitsu to defeat his brown belt competition-Christian Broadnax that we will now refer to as Ben-jitsu. Ben-jitsu is an extremely technical form of jiujitsu that involves lots of running your opponent off the mat and restarting the match, mixed in with some occasional fixing of the hair. Thanks to the Graciemag.com coverage of the event, you can watch Ben-Jitsu in action and try to emulate it at home. Enjoy! [Source]
