Sometimes you think that video games and highlight reels depicting MMA knockouts are too cherry-picked, too fantastical and simply not a real representation of day-to-day MMA knockouts. They are hyperbolic in games and only the best of the best in highlights. Great KOs are just too rare a breed. You can’t expect them. You shouldn’t expect them. So we don’t expect them. At least not now in this homogenized sport. But it’s cool, because every now and then, a devastating KO spills across our laps like a cracked skull leaking brain fluid, and it’s truly a sight to behold.
Take Anna Elmose for example. She had her opponent rocked against the cage and then brought a brutal combination of lefts and rights that sent her opponent’s head bobbling and flopping as if the earth’s physics were primarily founded in ragdoll technology. It was horrifyingly beautiful.
