Waltz-Tango-Foxtrot (WTF) Randy Couture Joins Season 19 of Dancing with the Stars

It was announced earlier today that UFC Vet, Randy Couture, will once again be trying to best Chuck Liddell and survive elimination from Dancing with the Stars longer than Chuck did. Couture will be paired with Karina Smirnoff—who’s no stranger to ‘fighter-types’, having previously worked with the likes of Mario Lopez (who’s a decorated wrestler better known under the alias “A.C. Slater), boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., Ralph Machio (AKA Miyagi Black Belt, Daniel LaRusso), U.S. Army Vet J.R. Martinez, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrintino—whose last fight resulted in a self-inflicted KO when he bashed his own head into a wall on the MTV Reality show Jersey Shore.

Randy is not the only athlete to appear on this season; as he will be joined by Olympian Lolo Jones and NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip when the ABC show premiers on September 15th. When we last visited Dancing with the Stars, Chuck Liddell was eliminated with a Two-Step (which we can understand, because Chuck was more of a hand-work sorta guy) to “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” by Brooks & Dunn. We’re hoping that Randy gets some better song selections, more in tune with his background and personality like: “Man in Motion (St. Elmo’s Fire)” by John Parr, or some of the hits from his CD, “Don’t Quit! Music Presents: Randy Couture’s Workout Mix Vol.1.”

In any case, we just hope that whoever it is that’s in charge of selecting the cast at least influenced by Randy’s sweet dance moves and not Chuck’s last performance.
