Wait, Paulo Filho confronted Melvin Manhoef after he beat Evangelista Cyborg? No way…

You guys remember that one time when Paulo Filho used to actually fight? Damn, those were the days. He would come out to Darude, earn a paycheck, then go backstage to sip on tropical flavored Capri Suns. First there was Bitetti Combat in which he abruptly dipped out due to unknown reasons. Then Paulo Filho admitted that although he should be in therapy, he didn’t feel like going and choose to go fishing instead. In October 2009, just 48 hours before Dream 12 was scheduled to go down, Paul Filho’s mother informed FEG that he had to drop out of the event due to apparent passport problems. The next month, Paulo Filho admitted that he didn’t have any passport problems, the dude was just severely depressed…again.

On May 10th 2010, Bellator was forced to replace Paulo Filho with Jay Silva in a ‘superfight’ with Hector Lombard. It wasn’t a ‘superfight’ since there was no cut-off flannel involved. In an interview with Tatame Magazine, Paulo Filho told reporters the reason why he was dropped from the Bellator card was not because of his alleged ‘passport issues’, but it was because he was too damn strong.

Let’s face it, the only reason why you’re reading this is because Paulo Filho is involved. He has now elevated into your list of relevant fighters that you persistently follow, and you can’t do anything about it. Bas Rutten says MMA is 90% mental, 10% physical but for Paulo Filho it’s 8% mental, 2% severe depression and 90% cut-off flannel. Among Wonder Woman’s rope, Green Lantern’s ring and Gambit’s deck of playing cards lies a relic that even the truest superhero aficionado respects: Paulo Filho’s cut-off flannel, and it’s out for vengeance. Not the kind of vengeance you see in a Mission Impossible movie when Tom Cruise gets a phone call and an hour of overly complicated plot turns develop and by the end of the movie you realize you left your wallet at Chick fil-A. Paulo Filho’s cut-off flannel is out to thoroughly chop necks, and apparently he wants to get back by in the cage by fighting Melvin Manhoef.

Check out what happened shortly after Melvin Manhoef demolished Cyborg this past weekend in Brazil.
