Alexander Volkanovski beat ‘The Korean Zombie’ so bad, he had retirement on his mind.

The UFC Featherweight Champion would put on a masterclass performance against Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273. From the opening bell to the third round stoppage, Volkanovski dominated the Korean fighter. Zombie would think about calling it quits following his second title opportunity.

Volkanovski Felt Bad About Beating Zombie

‘The Great’ thinks Zombie was being too hard on himself after the brutal loss

“Obviously I felt bad,” Volkanovski told TMZ Sports. “I started feeling bad with the shots I was landing. I could see he was done. I felt bad because you could see he was a bit emotional after the fight. I couldn’t understand him but knew he was talking about retiring and all that.

“It doesn’t matter who was there in front of me, that was gonna happen. So don’t be so hard on yourself. Because if you were in front of someone else that night, it wouldn’t have looked that way.”

‘I Gave Him A Warning’

Volkanovski would continue, saying Zombie should have expected the devastating defeat.

“That’s exactly what I said I was gonna do. I don’t lie, I tell him like it is. I gave him the warning before it happened.
