Oezdemir (15-2) has not fought since his TKO loss to Daniel Cormier at the UFC 220 pay-per-view (PPV) event last August. “No Time” recently pulled out from fights against “Shogun Rua” and Alexander Gustafsson due to nagging injuries and legal issues.
Smith (30-13) is riding on a three-fight winning streak as a middleweight but lost via TKO to Thiago Santos back in February. “Lionheart” made a move to 205 pounds shortly after, scoring back-to-back wins over former champions Rashad Evans and Mauricio Rua.
The UFC Fight Night 138 card is set to take place at the Moncton Events Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. With the only fight scheduled is a heavyweight bout between Arjan Bhullar and Marcelo Golm.
