Putin Has Announced Intent To Build A School In Honor Of Khabib
Khabib Nurmagomedov has a lot to be proud of inside the Octagon. Now, because of Vladimir Putin, he will have an even bigger achievement outside the cage.
Khabib is the UFC’s lightweight champ. He holds an undefeated professional record. His most recent bout with Conor McGregor broke the PPV sale record Khabib is a superstar in his native Russia.
Now, Russian President Vladimir Putin has shown how influential Khabib truly is. It was announced that Putin will be allocating 600 million ruble, (9.3M USD) to development of a new school, and it will be named after Khabib.
This announcement comes from Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap. In an interview with the Teacher’s Newsletter, he explains how his son’s request for more education funding has led to this announcement.
“Khabib recently contacted [Putin] by phone. following this appeal, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin signed a decree allocating about 600 million rubles to the Republic of Dagestan to open a school named after Khabib Nurmagomedov. I hope that this money will go to its intended purpose. which is the opportunity to learn better, educate, give results. We will work on it.”
This is incredible news. This is an awesome development out of Russia. As a result, it is amazing to see the bigger effect these athletes can have on the world. Additionally, even the aforementioned McGregor, was recently seen helping to build homeless shelters.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is set to take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 242, in Abu Dhabi. The event takes place on September 7th.
