Vitor Belfort has a plan, and it’s to knock out Jon Jones

There are few beings on this planet Vitor Belfort can’t KO in the first round. Vitor has 21 wins, 14 by knockout (or a form of knockout) and all of those devastating finishes add up to a grand total of 1804 seconds. Divide by fourteen, carry the one, reflect on my absolute insistence as a child that I would never use anything beyond rudimentary mathematics in my life (even though math can make anything possible according to Jorge Rivera) and we are left with a little over two minute average fight time in the matches Vitor Belfort wins with his formidable fists and a wish that I paid more attention in school. That means on September 22nd we pretty much know what we are going to get within the first few minutes of Bones/Vitor at the newfangled UFC 151; either a new champion or Vitor losing in a weight division he hasn’t had his hand raised in since 2006.

Think about that. 2006. That’s when Pirates of the Caribbean and The Departed were wowing us in movie theaters across the world.

Vitor knows the great power that reside in his fists, and he knows that Jesus Christ will be making a few tough decisions on who to root for above the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Vitor knows his strengths and weaknesses, and he has a plan, and that plan is to knock out Jon Jones. This is what he had to say to UOL Esporte:

“I’ll knock him out. He better be prepared for me. I’m there to fight, I’m there to win. It’s going to be a lion facing a lion. I’m going to win. I’m going to push the pace. The plan is to defeat him.”

A solid plan if I’ve ever seen one.
