The odds of St. Pierre and Diaz ever fighting again are so slim but that does not mean we wouldn’t watch it. Scott Coker you know what to do. Rizin, wire the funds and get this thing going. Oscar De LaHoya, stop whatever the hell you’re doing, calm down a little bit and make this fight happen.
Hell, ONE Championship has a never ending bank account, spend that money on a 2013 reboot.
What is old is new again and if six whole years later (has it really been that long?) Diaz and GSP want to fight again, who are we to judge. We would watch the hell out of the build-up, the conference calls and the Embedded it would get.
The UFC wants to play it safe and not give into the demands of Nick Diaz and Georges St. Pierre. In all reality the UFC has nothing to lose here.
Pay Diaz what he wants. Pay GSP what he wants. Then let the chips fall where they may. If the fight flops or get cancelled can it really get any worse for the UFC?
The UFC still has 76 other events to promote on ESPN in 2019, who care if a single fight dies in a fiery plane crash over the Stockton desert? The UFC has no equal in MMA and has ton of ESPN monies to play with in 2019.
