Boxing Star Vasyl Lomachenko Broadening His Skill Set In Thailand

Boxing great Vasyl Lomachenko is arguably one of the greatest athletes on the planet, currently. Now, it would appear he is dipping his toes in other sports.

Lomachenko is a WBO and WBO champion. He holds several records, as having the least amount of professional boxing fights, before winning world titles. Loma has only lost one fight; his second pro bout, in a title fight. Additionally, he has made every single opponent he has boxed look outclassed.

Recently, Lomachenko took a trip to Thailand, to train in Muay Thai. A bold move, yet Lomachenko is a natural. He took videos of his first Muay Thai training session, and posted them to Instagram.

Not too shabby at all, for a first lesson. However, ever the prodigy, another video made the rounds, a few days later. This video appears to show a marked improvement over a very short amount of time. Here is a copy, via Twitter user @DanCanobbio:

These are some heavy kicks, from a boxing world champion. Especially, with such a limited amount of training.

Perhaps this was just for fun, but the idea of Vasyl Lomachenko competing in other combat sports is too good to ignore. Recently, UFC Flyweight Champion Henry Cejudo called for a fight with Loma. Maybe this could be a step in making this fight happen. Although, Loma will clearly struggle with the ground game of the Olympic wrestler.

Whether this was just for a change of pace, or he is looking to change sports, Vasyl Lomachenko is already looking pretty good. It seems hard to imagine anybody not liking the idea of him competing in Muay Thai or MMA.
