Uros Medic got the homecoming finish, and he needed almost no time to do it.

Medic defeated Daniel Rodriguez by TKO at 0:30 of round one in the UFC Belgrade main event on Saturday, August 1, 2026, inside Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia. Referee Jason Herzog stopped the welterweight headliner after Medic dropped Rodriguez and swarmed with follow-up strikes.

The win moved Medic to 14-3 and extended his finishing streak in a first UFC main event. Rodriguez fell to 20-6, losing his first fight back after a long layoff and arriving in hostile territory against a Serbian headliner.

Watch the highlights below.

Round-By-Round Details

Round one barely had time to breathe. Rodriguez opened southpaw and landed a hard low kick, but Medic immediately answered with the sharper hands. He stepped in with a fast multi-punch burst, and an overhand left at the front of the combination sent Rodriguez crashing backward to the canvas.

Rodriguez shelled up as Medic followed him down. Medic added a kick to the body as Rodriguez tried to recover, then poured on punches from top position. Herzog gave Rodriguez a chance to move, saw the damage piling up, and waved off the fight at the 30-second mark.

The official result was Uros Medic def. Daniel Rodriguez by TKO, 0:30 of round one. It was the quickest finish of the UFC Belgrade main card and a ruthless ending to the promotion’s first event in Serbia.

Medic Delivers At Home

Medic entered the week ranked in the welterweight top 15 and carrying the pressure of a historic Serbia debut. He did not need a long showcase to prove he was ready for the spot. One exchange was enough to turn a five-round main event into a celebration.

Rodriguez came in with veteran experience and a three-fight winning streak, but he never got to test Medic beyond the opening pocket exchange. For Medic, that is the point. His UFC run has been built on endings, and this was his biggest platform yet.
