Urijah Faber beats down Michael McDonald and makes another case for a title shot

Michael McDonald is a 22-year-old badass. This much, we know. But before the changing of the guard officially happens in any weight class below 155, you’ll have to go through the Godfather of it all, Urijah Faber. Now three-and-a-half years removed from losing his featherweight belt to Jose Aldo, two-and-a-half years since his bantamweight title fight loss to Dominick Cruz, and eighteen months after he fell to Renan Barao, perhaps the greatest Urijah Faber of all has emerged.

Of course, the Duane Ludwig effect is in play here, and since Ludwig has joined Team Alpha Male, the guys who used to be known as wrestlers have morphed into purebred monsters. No .gif better represents this new form of California Love than Faber’s finish of McDonald tonight at UFC on FOX 9:

This is four wins in a row now for Faber, and you have to wonder, if you don’t give the next title shot to him, who do you give it to?
