Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway III goes down in less than a month, and Uriah Faber has given his pick.
Volkanovski vs. Holloway 3 pick
Speaking with The Schmo, Faber picked the Hawaiian to win the trilogy.
“Man, it’s hard to say. I thought Holloway, I think it was the last one – I thought Holloway got at least one of those fights,” Faber said. “So, I think it’s a 2-1 Holloway. He’s been looking so impressive lately. I think I’m gonna give the edge to him.”
While it isn’t the most hard-hitting breakdown you’ll ever read, Faber is going with Holloway.
UFC Austin
One of Faber’s students, Josh Emmett, has a huge fight coming up on June 18 against Calvin Kattar, and if he wins, he should be next in line for the featherweight title. Of course, that is if Volkanovski wins the trilogy and Faber is wrong.
“Yeah, you know, Josh has had a rough patch with injuries like his entire career. So he got his momentum stolen, but he should have been fighting for a title already. He should be in the title hunt after this fight for sure. The same thing for a Kattar,” Faber said. “Both these guys have come up the hard way. They have nasty fights against top-level opponents and the best man will win. We think that’s our guy obviously, but only time will tell.”
A1 Combat
Faber has stayed busy outside the cage, being the latest fighter to start his own promotion, ‘Uriah Faber’s A1 Combat.’ He had his first three events in May and will have his next event on July 31 in Stockton, California.
