UFC featherweight Max Holloway will return to defend his featherweight title against former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 222, which takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 3.

Holloway originally scheduled to face Frankie Edgar at UFC 218 last month in Detroit until Edgar was forced to pull out because of a broken orbital suffered during training camp. Former champ Jose Aldo took Edgar’s place to rematch Holloway. Apparently, Max Holloway who won the bout via third-round TKO over the ex-champion for the second time.

As per a report by MMA Junkie who first confirms the news and confirmed via ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Holloway is set to square off against former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

Holloway will look for his second successful title defense as he also intends to extend his career-high winning streak to 13 fights. He hasn’t experienced a loss since August 2013, a unanimous decision to current lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

Holloway, who was named 2017 “Fighter of the Year” by the UFC. Max Holloway has won 11 straight in the division, which is the longest active streak.

Frankie Edgar last battled against rising star Yair Rodriguez at UFC 211 in May, won the bout via TKO in the second round and handed Rodriguez his first UFC loss. Edgar is 7-2 since dropping to featherweight in 2013, with his only defeats in that stretch coming to Aldo.
