Unfortunately Chris Weidman didn’t make that ‘Anderson Silva money’ at UFC 162

Now that the dust has settled from UFC 162, the official salaries of the competitors from Saturday night has been released. With all of the recent talk about fighter pay, I think it’s worth noting that the new champion Chris Weidman made 48K while Anderson Silva made well “Anderson Silva money” by pulling in a cool 600K for his stunning defeat.

Word on the street is that Weidman plans to re-negotiate his deal. While I’m sure the freshly crowned king of the middleweight division will ask for a raise, I can’t help but wonder if he has the negotiating pull to request such a raise.

On the other hand, he is the champ now but so was Lyoto Machida at one point and he got laughed off the phone during a call with Dana once. Apparently only Anderson gets that kind of money. Well him and Brock, anyways what’s a post about money without this gif. Enjoy.
