UFC’s Colby Covington Now Calling Out Female UFC Fighters

Colby Covington is disliked by many because of his trash talked nature to get attention, for example, calling people to “filthy animals,” which he called the Brazilian people after scoring a win against Demian Maia at UFC Fight Night in Brazil.

This past Friday, during a press conference to celebrate UFC 25th anniversary, the promotion announced the biggest fights taking place over the next few months, including Covington vs. Rafael Dos Anjos moved to UFC 225 for the interim welterweight title on June 9 in Chicago. Covington as usual never zip his tongue and stole the show, which didn’t sit well to some.

Now Covington picked out women’s bantamweight title contender Raquel Pennington, who told the press she wasn’t a fan of his brand of trash talk and wanted to smack him because of his “unnecessary” behavior was sitting across Covington during the press conference.

However, Covington isn’t buying her comments and responded that she is simply jealous: (Quote Via FloCombat)

“Who is Raquel Pennington? What is she, 9-5 in the weakest division in the UFC? Let me tell you the real reason Raquel Pennington is mad at me. She’s mad at me ‘cause her wife, when she was at American Top Team, Tecia Torres, was always googly-eyed over me, staring at me across the mats. She must have walked in on her wife one day looking at my Instagram ‘cause I’m so sexy, American raw steel and sex appeal. There’s the real reason. She’s not mad at what I said at the press conference. She’s just mad that her wife has googly eyes for me.”

Covington is actually referring to Pennington’s wife Tecia “Tiny Tornado” Torres, who according to Covington, made “googly eyes” towards him when the two trained together at American Top Team.

Pennington tied the knot with “Tiny Tornado” back in 2016 is slated to face Amanda Nunes next month in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
