Ilia Topuria will headline the historic UFC White House event on June 14, facing interim champion Justin Gaethje in a lightweight title unification bout. UFC CEO Dana White announced the card on Saturday during the UFC 326 broadcast.
Topuria, regarded as one of the top pound-for-pound fighters, claimed the vacant lightweight title by defeating Charles Oliveira after Islam Makhachev left the division. He then took an extended break while finalizing a personal divorce, keeping him out of the octagon for the first part of 2026.
“I’m ready for this fight,” Topuria said.

Gaethje’s Road to the Interim Title
With Topuria inactive, the UFC organized an interim lightweight title match at UFC 324, where Gaethje faced Paddy Pimblett. Gaethje dominated across five rounds to win by unanimous decision and claim the interim belt.
Now Gaethje steps into the main event at the White House, hoping to unify the lightweight division.
