Welcome back from Portlandia, grab some Voodoo donuts and enjoy a leisurely Sunday morning filled with rumors floating about the Pacific Northwest airstream. A little before 2:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, John Lineker and John Dodson wrapped up a very violent bantamweight showcase. Out of the left over gun smoke from all the combined flung strikes, exists hot MMA rumors.

At UFC Portland if something was smoking it was totally cool if you went and checked it out. And since it’s recreationally legal in the state of Oregon if you want to partake in that smoke, that’s cool to. Rumors are also very cool.

As always these our rumors that have been talked about behind closed doors between MMA higher ups, so take them as rumors.

  • Is the UFC going Hollywood? Rumors with new crop of celebrity owner’s fighters will do more TV appearances and movie deals. In addition, it has been tossed out that the UFC may start up a whole production wing like the WWE has done, which would lead to something along the lines of “UFC Studios”

  • Steam is picking up for former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw moving down to 125 pounds and challenging Mighty Mouse Johnson. This potential super-fight would come in 2017 and would be  in lieu of Johnson not moving up to 135 pounds to challenge Dominick Cruz.
  • Nick Diaz has been dropping hints all across social media that he is idea back in the MMA game. A payment plan with the Nevada Athletic Commission overlords has been rumored to have been worked out between Diaz, with the UFC acting as a go-between
  • Early numbers on Rizin report over 10 million viewers watched on FujiTV in Japan, this would shatter American viewership. These numbers do not include the Brazilian channel it was aired on or the numbers from EverSport’s streaming platform.
  • Reports say that former UFC fighter Shayna Baszler will be receiving a tryout at the WWE Performance Center. On the indie wrestling circuit Baszler’s MMA-hybrid style has drawn rave reviews with every promo she has worked with. This is huge for the longtime MMA vet, if Baszler impresses WWE brass her next stop would be NXT
