UFC Showing A Potential Interest In Francis Ngannou Vs. Derrick Lewis Matchup

UFC officials posted on its official Twitter account, about an intriguing potential heavyweight matchup between contenders Derrick Lewis and knockout artist Francis Ngannou.

The official message on Twitter, which is asking fans a very interesting series of seemingly rhetorical questions about this fight:

This past weekend, Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis picked up his seventh win in eight fights with a third-round knockout win over Polish fighter, Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 124. After the victory, he said he got couple potential opponents on his mind.

Meanwhile, Francis Ngannou had won 10 straight fights – including his first six in the UFC – before losing a title to heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic this past month at UFC 220. Ngannou is holding an impressive overall record of 11-2.

It remains to be seen whether the UFC will actually go ahead and pull the trigger on the match-up, but Derrick Lewis has already admitted that Ngannou is someone he is interested in fighting, though he’s not at the top of his wishlist.

“It really doesn’t matter (who I fight next),” Lewis told MMA Junkie Radio. “Of course Francis. (Curtis) Blaydes. And I really want to get the Werdum fight (more than any of them) because that was the fight I was supposed to fight anyway. It left a bad taste in my mouth.”

Who do you think comes out victorious in a heavyweight slugfest between Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou, if this fight happens?
