Jessie Rosas has been removed from the UFC roster days after withdrawing from his scheduled promotional debut against Miles Johns at UFC Vegas 120.
UFC Roster Watch reported the move on Wednesday, August 12, with a direct update naming Rosas.
Rosas Never Reached The Octagon
Rosas accepted the Johns fight after the UFC needed a replacement during fight week. The booking gave the 23-year-old an immediate path into the promotion, but his withdrawal brought Gianni Vazquez back into the matchup one day before the August 8 event at Meta Apex in Las Vegas.
Raul Rosas Jr. later said doctors initially suspected that a mark on his older brother’s forehead was herpes. The mark was ultimately identified as mat burn, but the medical concern had already taken Jessie Rosas off the card.
The removal ends a UFC stint that produced a contract and official fight-week portraits but no bout. Rosas therefore leaves without an official Octagon result.
A Short-Notice Signing Ends With A Roster Exit
Rosas entered the booking with an 8-1 professional record and a three-fight winning streak. Six of his eight victories came inside the distance: four submissions and two knockouts. His only defeat came against Keenan Lewis in November 2024.
The withdrawal was also not the first late cancellation of his career. Rosas was scheduled to face John Yannis in the Fury FC 102 main event in March 2025 but withdrew shortly before the bout began.
His UFC opportunity had placed him in the same promotion as younger brother Raul Rosas Jr., who has competed in the Octagon since 2022. Jessie Rosas can still earn another contract through regional competition, but no return bout or new promotion has been announced.
Vazquez went on to face Johns at UFC Vegas 120 and lost by unanimous decision. Jessie Rosas’ roster removal came four days after the event.
