Eight UFC fighters have lost their jobs.

The UFC is doing some summer cleaning to make room for this year’s season of Dana White’s Contender Series.

Yesterday and today, the algorithm-based Twitter account UFC Roster Watch revealed that Louis Smolka, Frank Camacho, Alex Da Silva, Andreas Michailidis, Felipe Colares, Tristan Connelly, Niklas Stolze, and TJ Laramie are no longer on the roster.

It is not confirmed if any of the fighters decided not to resign or not.

The promotion has released Smolka (17-9) for the second time. After getting released in 2017, the Hawaiian went back to the regional scene to pick up some wins and then got resigned. In his latest run, Smolka went 2-5, getting knocked out in his last two.

On Twitter, he said he was excited about free agency.

“I’m kinda excited to test free agency, the MMA landscape is changing a lot and pretty soon it might be like boxing where huge entities are roaming the globe to take each other out,” Smolka wrote. “Sounds like it has the potential to be really lucrative to me.”

Camacho (22-10) went 2-6 in the UFC, earning Fight of the Night three times. However, he lost his last three, most recently getting knocked out by Manuel Torres.

Lamarie (12-5) went 0-2 in the promotion after securing a UFC contract on season four of Dana White’s Contender Series.

Connelly (14-8) made a high splash in his UFC debut by defeating Michel Pereira via unanimous decision. Unfortunately, two neck surgeries held him out of action causing lengthy layoffs. He lost to Darren Elkins earlier this year in April, going 1-2 in the UFC.

Alex Da Silva (21-4), Niklas Stolze (12-6) and Andreas Michailidis (13-6) all fought this past weekend at UFC Vegas 56 and lost.
