UFC Is Dissatisfied With Conor McGregor Behavior Heading Into UFC 229

Conor McGregor Can Do Basically Whatever He Wants

UFC was teasing Conor McGregor for a long period of time. Remember how many times Dana White praised him. He also stated Conor makes so much money he might as well be UFC part owner. Give someone an inch and they will take a mile.

Conor is slated to face one of the best ground and pound fighters of all time, Khabib Nurmagomedov, on October 6th, inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Yet, The Notorious behaves like the whole world is his heading into UFC 229 showdown. The man who basically trolled every single fighter decided to shut the media down! There won’t be press conferences or interviews. According to Dave Meltzer’s newsletter, UFC is dissatisfied with Conor’s behavior. (via MMAMania.com)

One of the reasons you haven’t seen much in the way of interviews and such is that McGregor has not agreed to do anything. There are no press conferences scheduled because McGregor at this point hasn’t agreed to them. There is a lot of frustration within the UFC about McGregor’s attitude, but in the end, he’s got the leverage and the ticket sales and secondary market results only give him more leverage.

The feeling is that this may be the biggest non-boxing PPV of all-time, and the only reason it wouldn’t be is that McGregor hasn’t been pushing it hard. McGregor was able to get a larger piece of the action for this fight than any of his UFC fights to date, so there is a direct correlation more than ever between his work in promoting the fight and his pocket book, but this may also show that he knows he’s in a real fight and doesn’t want to break training.

Conor McGregor prepares for a very serious match at the moment. It includes weight cutting, tactics,  specific situations. Khabib Nurmagomedov is a real cardio machine. On the other side, Conor has had big cardio issues versus Nate Diaz at UFC 202 on August 20, 2016. Don’t forget Conor fought for the last time at UFC 205 on November 12th, 2016. He defeated Eddie Alvarez via TKO. But nearly two years have passed since his last match!

One thing is certain – we can’t expect public appearances from Conor McGregor for a period of time. UFC is helpless. Nobody can make The Notorious change his mind if he doesn’t want to! What do you think of this situation? Do you like UFC news without Mystic Mac?
